Hi! My name is Leyla Norman, and I am so glad you're thinking of learning English with me! I empower learners to excel in general, academic, and business English.
I spent years as a volunteer conversation partner, coach, and teacher to hone my skills before teaching professionally. I am a licensed public school teacher, certified to teach early childhood education through 6th grade as a general education teacher, 7th through 12th grade English Language Arts, and English as a Second Language for Kindergarten through 12th grade in the State of Texas. Our Services
How It Works
For in-person English tutoring, we will work with you to meet your goals in learning English in the Bryan/College Station, Texas area.
To Learn English online, Empower English Tutoring uses Zoom to conduct its online English Tutoring classes.
Students will need a headset with microphone, computer, and high-speed internet in order to learn English online or participate in English Tutoring.
In-Person English Tutoring
Payment can be made through PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo before the English tutoring class, via credit card through our store page, or alternate in-person arrangements can be arranged.
In-person English tutoring is available in your home or a public location within 15 minutes of College Station, Texas.
Online English Tutoring
We require students to pre-pay for their English tutoring lessons.
Absence Policy
If an English tutoring student is 10 or fewer minutes late to a class, the lesson will continue, but it will be shortened by the length of time the student was late. No make-up of that lost time will be permitted. If an English tutoring student is more than 10 minutes late to a class, the class will be canceled, and it is the student's responsibility to contact to reschedule. If an English tutoring student knows he or she will be absent from it, the student must contact us at least 24 hours in advance of a lesson. If there are technical difficulties in connecting to Zoom, computer difficulties, etc., it is still the student's responsibility to communicate this by email, text, or phone call. If the teacher has to be late or absent from a class, every effort will be made to contact a student, and a make-up class will be rescheduled.
NOTE: Each lesson is scheduled on a 30-minute or one-hour basis. Thirty-minute English tutoring lessons are best for children.
Refunds can be made on an individualized basis. If students or a teacher must reschedule a class, payment for that class will carry over to the next lesson.
