Managers who are learning English may sometimes struggle with the right way to express something to their employees.
Here are two dictation exercises that show a way to deal with wanting to 1.) express appreciation to a subordinate and 2.) to check in on an employee's progress with a certain project they're working on.

Stop apologizing to people for not speaking perfect English! Instead, embrace (hug, accept) the fact that you're an English language learner. Don't let your mistakes stop you from improving. Get out there, and make friends who speak English. Practice English out loud by yourself. You're not going to improve as quickly or as well as you want to unless you allow yourself to make mistakes.
